Crime Prevention Seminar Held at Ikh Zasag University, Mongolia

Mongolia

A seminar highlighting the importance of crime prevention was held at Ikh Zasag University in Mongolia. ASEZ organized the event to promote a safer campus culture and raise awareness about crime prevention.

The seminar took place on February 2 at the university’s conference hall as part of ASEZ’s crime prevention initiative, the RCT (Reduce Crime Together) Project. Approximately 100 participants—including ASEZ members, students, faculty, and the dean—attended the event, where they discussed the necessity of crime prevention and explored practical ways to implement it.

The seminar was designed to help university students properly recognize various types of crimes they may encounter in daily life and to grow as active participants in prevention efforts based on a strong sense of citizenship and community. Participants agreed that crime prevention cannot be achieved through individual efforts alone, but becomes more effective through the collective attention and cooperation of the entire community. In particular, crime prevention aligns with global efforts to proactively address risk factors through education and youth engagement, ultimately fostering a more inclusive society.

ASEZ’s RCT Project is a community-driven initiative designed to reduce school violence and everyday crime. One of its key programs, RCT School (Reduce Crime Together School), provides seminars, educational sessions, campaigns, and forums that encourage students to recognize social issues independently while fostering responsibility and human rights awareness. This approach emphasizes prevention through education and the active role of young people, thereby realizing the international goal of fostering safe communities.

An ASEZ representative stated, “We hope that crime prevention education will help university students develop the right awareness from an early stage and, based on this foundation, contribute positively to society,” encouraging active student participation.

The dean of Ikh Zasag University also attended the seminar and expressed support for the RCT initiative. Representing the university, Dean M. Davaadorj shared his appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the seminar and expressed his willingness to continue cooperation with ASEZ. He also signed in support of ASEZ’s activities, expressing hope for their continued impact.

More than a one-time event, the seminar served as a meaningful starting point for driving practical change on campus. ASEZ plans to expand its efforts by collaborating with Ikh Zasag University and other institutions to provide regular crime prevention education and diverse programs. In addition, ASEZ will continue to strengthen partnerships with universities, local governments, and law enforcement agencies to improve the living environment and further promote crime prevention awareness.
