On July 28, 2024, about 110 ASEZ members in Pretoria, South Africa, gathered to clean the Raslou AH area of Centurion, Tshwane, as part of the Earth Recovery Project.

Illegal dumping had been rampant in this area, leading to the accumulation of garbage over the years. At the request of Tshwane’s office, ASEZ members covered a 2-kilometer section from Mimosa Ave to Lochner Road, collecting all kinds of household and other wastes scattered around the streets. The amount of trash collected that day filled the capacity of an 8-ton truck.

As a sign of gratitude, the municipality provided garbage bags, cleaning tools, snacks, and water bottles. ASEZ and the Tshwane Municipality have signed an agreement to implement the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] and are carrying out various volunteer programs and cooperative activities.

Themba Fosi, a member of the Mayoral Committee, who attended the event, said, “Thank you for helping where the government is lacking. You are VIPs,” expressing gratitude and encouraging ASEZ by signing in support of its global environmental restoration project.
