On December 27, 2020, ASEZ Argentina Branch held a webinar for the UN Human Rights Day (December 10). About one hundred people, including twenty university students, took part in this event.

ASEZ members in Argentina have introduced the Human Rights Declaration through the panel display every year, and have raised the awareness of human rights. And this year in particular, they carried out a campaign in a form of webinar online.

On December 10, 1948, the UN proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly to reflect on the cruelty and violence that mankind committed at World War II.

Through this webinar, the members publicized the unfair treatment and alienation of the most vulnerable group of people in food, water, hygiene, employment, and education, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, they discussed about who are suffering the most among the social classes, what they are suffering from, and what we can do for them in detail.

Karen, who took part in this event, explained the purpose of this event, saying, “The purpose of this online seminar is to raise awareness of the vulnerable group of people, and protect their human rights with one accord.” Natalia, another ASEZ member, said, “We all have the rights to be respected as humans. ASEZ revealed the purpose of this seminar: It is to agree to ensure that people everywhere in this world are to be guaranteed their rights because they are human.”

Attention is paid to the ASEZ members, who look back on the present state of the human rights of the people vulnerable to the COVID-19 and strive to make a society where the human rights of all, not a few, are guaranteed.
