In 2016, 560,000 people died by violence crimes, terror, and war. “One person was killed every single minute.” 20% of deaths occurred in war and conflict areas, and 80% of them occurred outside those areas due to murder and violence.
Like this, crimes directly affect the life of human beings and seriously hinder their happiness, causing trauma and fear of crime damage. Therefore, reducing crime and violence is a prerequisite for human happiness and sustainable development.
The United Nations, too, advocates through the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs] preventing and eradicating criminal acts that harm human lives for the sustainable life and development, and protecting citizens from all forms of violence.
According to the Global Violent Death Report 2017, there are the positive scenario to prevent 1.35 million victims of crime by 2030, and the negative scenario that shows 820,000 deaths due to crimes.
The criterion that creates such totally different outcomes is awareness change of individuals, institutions, and countries, and their participation.
All our interest and participation can protect the precious lives of our loving families, neighbors, friends, and even the whole world from the crimes that we do not know when they may occur.
Please give your generous support for our small but meaningful actions so that the voices and actions for human peace and happiness can change the world.
ASEZ, the Church of God University Student Volunteer Group is going to carry out the global campaign for crime reduction together with all people around the world in the mother’s love to make a crime-free world, increasing human happiness and keeping human rights.
We will continue to carry out education, knowledge exchange, and practical activities, and enter into global partnership to make a crime-free world, changing individuals and letting the individuals also change another.
