Through the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that articulated and proclaimed about rights inherent to all human beings for the first time in the world, ASEZ members spread the word about the rights that we all humanity have on campuses and in local communities around the world.
Treating People like Humans—A Guarantee of Universal Human Rights
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the minimum standard to ensure human rights, which is applicable to anyone, anywhere in the world.
It is the world’s first pledge that admits the fact that human rights and basic freedoms should be ensured equally for everyone, everywhere in the world.
187 Official Meetings, 1,400 Discussions
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was completed through numerous debates and discussions among the then 58 members of the United Nations from January 1947 to December 1948.
It proclaims the values of human rights which everyone should freely enjoy beyond all political, cultural, religious, and social background; it clarifies that acknowledging the dignity and rights of man is the foundation of the world’s freedom, justice, and peace.
It sets out fundamental human rights to be universally protected, and it has been translated into over 500 languages.
