On July 11, 2024, a tree-planting event for environmental recovery was successfully held near the Polytechnic University of Amozoc (UPAM in Spanish) in Amozoc, Puebla, Mexico. A total of 100 trees were planted at this event, and it was planned to promote the importance of environmental preservation in cooperation with the local community.

This event was held in cooperation with Amozoc Municipality, and it was the fruit of discussions that began at a meeting between the Mayor of Amozoc and ASEZ. Deeply impressed by ASEZ’s activities, the mayor actively supported the event and promised to present a certificate of appreciation to ASEZ members who participated. The mayor also encouraged the UPAM President and students to participate in the tree-planting event. As a result, the UPAM President, professors, and about 40 university students voluntarily participated in the event.

On the day of the event, the President of the UPAM said, “I deeply appreciate the environmental protection activities of the young adult group, ASEZ,” and requested ASEZ to hold a forum on the campus in the future. ASEZ member Maria Guadalupe Roque Flores said, “Through this event, we hope to promote the importance of environmental preservation, and that we will all protect nature together.”

In addition, an official from Amozoc Municipality was impressed by the passionate activities of the ASEZ members and suggested to work on more projects together in the future. On this day, ASEZ received a certificate of appreciation from the Mayor of Amozoc, and the tree-planting event was successfully concluded.

This event served as an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of sustainable environmental protection in cooperation between the local community and the university, and this kind of activity is expected to continue in the future.
