The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [IPCC] has set a common goal to achieve carbon neutrality* by 2050 in order to limit the global average temperature increase to within 1.5 degrees. ASEZ takes the lead in reducing carbon emissions in everyday activities and safeguarding critical carbon sinks, such as forests and oceans.
As of October 2023
It is a project aimed at conserving terrestrial ecosystems, including trees, forests, and tropical rainforests. ASEZ is committed to preserving terrestrial ecosystems through activities such as tree planting, removal of invasive species, and planting indigenous flora. Additionally, ASEZ consistently organizes forums and seminars on biodiversity to explore the role of future generations in ecosystem conservation.
It is a project aimed at preserving marine ecosystems such as the sea, salt marshes, mangrove forests, and reed beds. Notably, designating a week that includes World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8) as “Blue Carbon Week,” ASEZ conducts an annual campaign to raise awareness of blue carbon and engage in activities to purify marine ecosystems.
It is an educational initiative by ASEZ, which takes into consideration the environmental rights and responsibilities of future generations in response to climate change. ASEZ visits local elementary, middle, and high schools to assist students in enjoying the right to a clean life and practicing the corresponding environmental protection obligations. Students participate in carbon emission reduction activities within their schools through Problem-Based Learning [PBL].
