ASEZ Signs Crime Prevention RCT MOU with Dasmariñas Integrated High School in the Philippines

Philippines
August 4, 2025

In August 4, 2025, the ASEZ, International University Student Volunteer Group successfully hosted the Reduce Crime Together Seminar at Dasmariñas Integrated High School.

Dasmariñas City, located near Metro Manila, is a densely populated area characterized by rapid urbanization and a large proportion of young residents. These features highlight that education and youth policy are key to crime prevention and social stability in the region. Taking these local conditions into account, ASEZ organized this forum with a focus on raising awareness among young people and strengthening community cooperation.

Prior to the forum, ASEZ held a meeting with 24 school officials—including the principal and two assistant principals—where they shared ASEZ’s global initiatives and efforts to build safe and sustainable communities. At this meeting, Principal Ma. Cristina P. Alcaraz expressed her trust and support for ASEZ by signing a pledge of endorsement.

On the day of the event, the school library was filled with participants, including Principal Alcaraz, Assistant Principal for Academics – Junior High Jeremiah A. Litton, Assistant Principal for Academics – Senior High Joaquin Oronan, five senior teachers, and about 40 outstanding students.

The forum received a highly positive response. The school administration not only confirmed the schedule for future seminars and provided the venue for events, but also joined in the commemorative photo and extended their full support. During the forum, it was emphasized that youth and education are central to crime prevention, and that awareness, cooperation, and active participation can all contribute to building a safer society.

A highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ASEZ and Dasmariñas Integrated High School. This MOU is significant because it goes beyond a one-time forum, laying the foundation for ongoing collaboration with local educational institutions on crime prevention and youth awareness initiatives. It provides a practical basis for helping students in Dasmariñas grow into “crime prevention practitioners” both on and off campus.

The seminar concluded in a spirit of passion and optimism, marking another important milestone in ASEZ’s mission to drive change through collective action. It is hoped that ASEZ’s efforts in Dasmariñas will inspire young people around the world to become leading forces in creating safer and more sustainable societies.
